Examples of my sports writing
For three years, 1999 until 2001, I was a stringer for the Wilmington (OH) News Journal. I loved working there, the editors are great, but the conference changed and the newspaper did away with stringers, in deference to the greater mileage to travel. They began a phone-in process for covering sports, unless it was local.
This is not a complete showcase of my sports writing but I believe it is a good example of that I can do. I would love the opportunity to return to my roots and write more sports related articles, as this was my first love. Though these articles are about basketball at the high school level, I am familiar with all sports, though my knowledge of hockey is limted, as I haven't been as exposed to it as much as other sports.
